Japanese Public Television Network Filmed Baseball Documentary in Marysville

Marysville Gold Sox LogoMARYSVILLE, CA (MPG) – NHK (Japanese TV) filmed the Marysville Gold Sox’s day-to-day operations as well as game-day footage at Colusa Casino Stadium from Thursday, July 16th to Saturday, July 18th.

NHK is the sole public television network in Japan and is the equivalent to PBS in the United States. Masako Uetani, a special assignment producer for NHK, and her staff will be filming a documentary about baseball in the United States and the Marysville Gold Sox will be one of the organizations featured.

This was a great opportunity for the Marysville Gold Sox and the Yuba-Sutter community to show how much baseball means to them in the United States and more specifically here in Northern California. Collegiate Summer Baseball does not get the publicity that of Minor League baseball in the United States, but to the people in smaller communities like our own, summer baseball is a way of life.
